1. Gear material selection

3. Gear machining accuracy requirements
It also puts forward a very high requirement for machining accuracy and heat treatment deformation process control. Only the low-speed light load gear system in less important working places can adopt the technical route of quenching and tempering or normalizing plus surface quenching by selecting medium carbon steel or medium carbon alloy steel, or use plastic gears in the field with less force impact. For high-speed heavy-duty gears, we need to select carburized steel to meet the use requirements of enterprises, and use quenching and tempering or normalizing for preliminary heat treatment, After the gear is processed, the carburizing quenching and tempering treatment process is adopted as a heat treatment to ensure that the requirements of improving performance are met. If necessary, the tooth shape must be finished after heat treatment, so as to make the tooth surface have high hardness, wear resistance and high contact fatigue strength, and the tooth root core has enough toughness to resist impact.
