When selecting precision rack, we should pay attention to the following main parameters.

1.If the gear runout, full tooth depth, common normal line and tooth alignment are unqualified, will the tooth swing error and circumferential pitch error be too large.

2. The installation distance after the rack and pinion installation is not appropriate.

3. The meshing clearance between rack and gear shall be 0.25 * modulus

4. Whether the full tooth depth, runout and common normal line of the rack, especially the tooth direction, are qualified.

5. Because the tooth profile of the precision rack is linear, the pressure angle of each point of the tooth profile is the same, and it is equal to the inclination angle of the tooth profile, and its standard value is 20 °

6. The same pitch and modulus on any line parallel to the tooth top line.

7. The straight line parallel to the top line of the rack and equal to the width of the rack is called the dividing line (center line), which is the datum line for calculating the size of the rack.
