What is the difference between helical planetary reducer and straight planetary reducer?

Helical planetary reducer can be regarded as a group of cylindrical gears with misaligned thin gears, so the contact points of each part are located in different parts of the tooth profile, thus producing the effect of compensating the errors of each thin gear. The elasticity of the teeth is very effective. Therefore, the teeth with an error less than 10mm can average the error. Under the load, they can run smoothly like the teeth with an error of 1mm. Because at any given moment, about half the time (assuming a certain degree of overlap is 1.5) will make two teeth, which brings additional benefits in terms of strength. Therefore, the stress can be established on the basis of 1.5 times the tooth width instead of one tooth width.

The main disadvantage of straight planetary reducer is that they will generate vibration. Whether due to design, manufacturing or deformation, some changes in the involute profile may occur along the entire tooth surface at the same time. This will result in a periodic one-time excitation of each tooth, which is usually very strong. The resulting vibration will cause heavy load and noise on the gears. Another disadvantage is that the additional strength sometimes obtained through the engagement of two pairs of teeth during the contact time cannot be used, because the stress is limited by the conditions of single tooth engagement in the cycle.

First of all, starting from the gear system, when two different gears operate well, the accuracy of helical gears must be higher than that of spur gears. Then, from the perspective of product structure of planetary reducer, the bracket of helical planetary reducer must be supported by double support structure, and the bracket of spur planetary reducer can be directly used as single support or double support.

The precision, noise and efficiency of the single technical support of spur gear can not be lower than that of the double support of spur gear. Compared with the helical gear planetary reducer, the precision of the double support cylindrical planetary reducer is higher than that of the spur gear, so the precision of the helical gear planetary reducer is higher.
