What are the three points in the process of gear machining?

The gear processing technology is divided into three steps, first is the selection of positioning datum, second is the processing of gear blanks, and last is the processing of tooth ends.

First of all, the selection of positioning reference is divided into two aspects: 1. Positioning with inner hole and end face, that is, positioning with the inner hole and end face of the workpiece, determining the center and axial position of the gear, and using the clamping method facing the positioning end face. This method can make the positioning datum, design datum, assembly datum and measurement datum coincide, and has high positioning accuracy, which is suitable for mass production. However, the manufacturing accuracy of the fixture is required to be very high.

2. The fit clearance between the excircle and the end face positioning workpiece and the fixture mandrel is large. Use a dial indicator to correct the excircle to determine the center position, and use the end face to position; Clamping is applied from another end face. In this way, each workpiece needs to be corrected, and the production efficiency is low; The requirements for the coaxiality of the inner and outer circles of the gear blanks are high, and the requirements for the accuracy of the fixtures are not high, which is suitable for small batch production of single pieces.

The second is the gear blank processing: the gear blank processing before the gear surface processing can play a very important role in the entire gear processing process, because the benchmark used by the gear surface processing and detection system must be produced at this stage and at the same time; Whether to improve labor productivity or to ensure the quality of gear processing products, we must pay attention to the processing of gear blanks.

Finally, gear end machining: gear end machining includes rounding, chamfering, chamfering, deburring, etc. The round gear and the sharp gear are easy to enter the meshing state when shifting, reducing the impact. Chamfering removes sharp edges and burrs from the tooth tip. During rounding, the milling cutter rotates at high speed and swings along the arc. After processing a tooth, the workpiece moves back from the milling cutter. After indexing, the tooth end of the next tooth quickly approaches the milling cutter. Gear end machining must be carried out before gear quenching, usually after gear hobbing (gear shaping) and before gear shaving.
