Precaution for material selection in precision gear machining:
1.Medium carbon structural steel:precision gear process adopts 45 steel for quenching,tempering or surface crushing. The gear after heat treatment has good comprehensive performance,but poor cutting performance and large tooth surface roughness,which is suitable for manufacturing low speed small load gear.
2.Medium carbon alloy steel:40Cr quenched and tempered or surface quenched.The machinery parts can be better than 45 steel after heat treatment,with small heat treatment deformation.It is suitable for producing gears with high speed,precision and large load.
3.Carburizing steel:20Cr and 18crMnTi are used to carburizing or carbonitriding in gear processing.After carburizing and quenching,the tooth surface hardness can reach HRC 58-63 and the iron core has high toughness,which is wear-resistant and impact resistant.It is suitable for manufacturing gears with high speed,medium load and impact load.After carburizing,the gear deforms greatly, needs to be polished and corrected, and the cost is high. The deformation of Carbonitriding treatment is small. Due to the thin layer, the bearing capacity is not as good as the former.
4.Nitrided steel: precision gear processing adopts 38crmoaia for nitriding, which has little influence on deformation, can no longer grind teeth, and the tooth surface has high wear resistance. It is suitable for manufacturing high-speed gears.
