1. Internal gear shaping is equivalent to the meshing of a pair of internal gears. Compared with external gears, it has a large degree of coincidence, that is, in the process of gear shaping, the gear shaping cutter has a large number of teeth to cut at the same time. Therefore, when selecting the cutting parameters, it should be smaller than when shaping external gears.
2. During the internal gear processing, the non involute part at the root of the gear shaper cutter shall be prevented from engaging to cause interference in the gear top cutting; At the same time, the phenomenon of gear undercutting caused by the radial feed of the gear shaper cutter should also be avoided
3. When cutting internal teeth, it is difficult to remove chips, so the flow direction of chips must be considered, especially when machining internal teeth for hole drilling.
4. The rotation direction of the cutter is the same as that of the internal gear. During processing, the rotation direction of the workbench should be changed.
Selection of internal gear shaping cutter: In order to avoid undercutting when machining internal gears, the gear shaping cutter with a certain number of teeth can only be used to cut the gear with a number of teeth greater than the minimum. This is the minimum number of relatively small teeth allowed for the workpiece to be processed.
If undercutting occurs during processing, the following methods can be used to avoid it:
1. Reduce the modification coefficient of gear shaper cutter.
2. Reduce the number of teeth of the gear shaper cutter.
3. Change the modification coefficient of the gear pair.
4. Increase the top circle radius of the internal gear.
